Employment support is an inter-agency partnership that brings together resources to help an individual get, learn and keep a job or career. Staff from various agencies will form an employment team working with an individual job seeker and employer – creating one plan for success.
This site will link you to basic information about major members of the partnership and also provide keys and tools to support their working together for success. The partnership can include:
Partners to Help Get A Job
An individual’s case manager/personal agent or service provider may help them link to other partners.
- Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)
Oregon has 2 agencies with a mission to assist Oregonians with disabilities in getting a job that matches their skills, interests and abilities. When an individual has a developmental disability, they work in partnership with others so joint planning assures that a worker will have the on-going support that helps them stay employed.
- Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (OVRS) assists persons with all kinds of disabilities through local offices statewide. (Note can find links to local offices and information for individual/families, and information for employers.
- Oregon Commission for the Blind (OCB) assists blind Oregonians in making informed choices and decisions to achieve full inclusion and integration in society through employment, independent living, and social self sufficiency. Information about services and locations is available.
