  • Navigating Transitions Workshop

    Navigating Transitions:  Understanding, Leading, and Coaching Staff Through Transformational Change

    The workshop is designed to provide managers with an overview of the organizational and individual change process, and with specific, easy-to-apply tools to help them guide staff through changes associated with the modernization and health care transformation efforts underway in DHS and OHA.  Managers participating in the workshop will have the opportunity to:

    • Explore and understand their own personal capacity and skill set for dealing with change.
    • Develop, enhance and practice new leadership skills and competencies they need to effectively lead others through the scope of change and transitions that will be required.
    • Think through the steps they will need to take to prepare their staff and business units.
    • Develop an action plan for moving forward. 
    • Practice and apply the tools from the workshop through implementation of action plans and participating with their peers in post-workshop group coaching sessions facilitated by the trainer(s).

    Some of the specific topics the workshop will focus on include:  understanding your own personal capacity for change and your personal style in dealing with change, the strengths and potential pitfalls you face based upon your own style; models for leading large scale organizational change, including the eight step process for successful change, how to assess the readiness and capacity of your business unit, and the leader’s role and responsibilities in communicating change; and the psychological dynamics of individual transitions and specific techniques, tools, and methods for coaching staff through these periods.
