Purpose:

Criteria For DHS Payment of Membership Dues In Professional Organizations

Policy:

DHS recognizes the benefit to be gained by DHS from employees membership and participation in professional and governmental organizations.

DHS's criteria for determining membership support:

• Benefit to the DHS.
• Availability of funds.
• Number of paid memberships in DHS.
• Availability of DHS membership vs. individual membership.

Payment must be approved in advance by the Appointing Authority.

No memberships or payments will be approved for organizations that discriminate on the basis or race, religion, gender, national origin, age or disability.
