Description: The Military Donated Leave Program (MDLP) provides a means for state employees to provide financial assistance to other state employees on activity duty military leave. The policy describes eligibility requirements and how to donate leave. Oregon Department of Administrative Services (DAS) has established a Military Donated Leave Program. DHS has adopted the DAS policy for the Military Donated Leave Program (MDLP).
Purpose/Rationale: In support of state employees called to active military duty, the State of Oregon administers a donated leave program. The donated leave may be used to supplement military wages up to what the employee earned in base wages as a state employee.
Applicability: All DHS Staff, see DAS definition for additional detail.
Failure to Comply: Failure
to comply with provisions of the policy and procedures may result in
donated leave being applied incorrectly, or denial of leave request.
