Child Welfare Proposed Policy and Rule

The Office of Child Welfare Programs requests public input on proposed amendments to:

  • Update rules governing the confidentiality of adoptions records to comply with setion 6 of HB 2365 (2015);
  • Permanently adopt temporary rules that made language clarifications related to the implementation of the Preventing Sex Trafficking and Stengthening Families Act of 2014 to ensure state plan compliance; and
  • Increase the amount the Department will pay to cover funeral and burial expenses for a child or young adult who dies while in the care and custody of the Department.

A public hearing will be held to take comments in person on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. in room 255 of the Human Services Building in Salem.

 


The Department also requests public input on permanently adopting temporary rules to clarify who is a relative for purposes of outgoing intercountry adoptions subject to The Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption (Convention) and the Intercountry Adoption Act of 2000, 42 USC 14901 to 14954 (IAA).
