Prescription pads
- NCPDP Letter to State Medicaid Directors (pdf) – Dated February 1, 2008, this letter reviews CMS requirements, and provides a list of “best practice” TRPP features. The best practice list was developed by a national taskforce including representatives from CMS, State Medicaid agencies, and national medical and pharmacy associations.
- CMS Letter to State Medicaid Directors (pdf) – Dated August 16, 2007, this letter from CMS outlines the federal tamper-resistant prescription pad requirement and the basic features necessary to comply with the requirement.
- CMS Updates (pdf) – Top questions and an update relating to whether use of indelible ink is an accepted TRPP characteristic.
- About security holograms – A security hologram is a sticker like the little square one found on the front of a credit card. The federal Government Printing Office defines a hologram as “A seal, tape, or label containing two images that morph into each other according to the angle of view. Security holograms may contain stock or customized images."
