Celebrating Developmental Disabilities Month
A new campaign called Employment First was unveiled in front of hundreds of people at the state capitol to kick off March as Developmental Disabilities Month.
This new state initiative is aimed at creating job opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. The campaign calls attention not only to people with developmental disabilities who want to work, but also to the benefits realized by businesses who employ them.

Oregon Intervention System (OIS) Training
The OIS Training Web site was launched in March, 2010 to assist service providers and staff with obtaining OIS training - a process for implementing Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) and safe intervention in community programs.
The new site includes information about who is required to take the OIS training, the OIS course schedule, how to become an OIS trainer, a map to find a OIS trainer in your area and other helpful tools and resources.
