Tuition Supported Programs in Rehabilitation Counseling
Numerous tuition-supported opportunities exist in Rehabilitation Counseling for OVRS staff and others. OVRS Funded CRC Exam Prep Workshop
If you are an OVRS staff member eligible to sit for the CRC exam, the OVRS Training unit can pay for an online CRC Exam Preparation Workshop through University of Wisconsin-Stout. The online workshop is self-paced and begins 5 weeks from the start date of the CRC exam date. The link to the UW Stout training page is http://www3.uwstout.edu/svri/training.cfm. If interested in registering for the UW-Stout online CRC Exam Preparation Workshop, please contact the OVRS Training Unit regarding payment details.
OVRS Staff Education and Certification
New OVRS staff as well as existing staff starting or completing a degree or receiving or recertifying a CRC or other professional license are asked to complete the OVRS Education Level Survey to provide data for OVRS's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD). The form can also be used to request information from the OVRS Training Unit on continuing one's education in the rehabilitation field.
Other Training Outside of DHS
Some non-DHS training may be of interest to staff. OVRS supports the professional development of staff, but due to budget constraints, cannot be responsible for providing funding or work time to attend these non-DHS events. Staff have the option to use personal funds and request management approval to use accrued leave. In some circumstances, management may approve the use of paid time or OVRS funds to attend a non-DHS training. Please check with management before making plans to attend any training that occurs during work hours.
