As the days grow shorter and colder and the nights longer, it’s a good time to renew ourselves during the Thanksgiving holiday, however we celebrate it.
This year we in the Oregon Health Authority have much to be thankful for. We are beginning to see positive results of the creation of coordinated care organizations that are getting more Oregon Health Plan members into timely primary care, reducing visits to hospital emergency departments, and slowing the growth of health care spending. And regardless of difficulties encountered along the way, we have enrolled tens of thousands of additional Oregonians in the Oregon Health Plan, so that they can enter the New Year in 2014 with medical, mental health, and dental coverage for themselves and their families.
I continue to be grateful for all of you and the work that you are doing to help us realize our goals of better health, better care and lower costs for all Oregonians. Thank you for all that you do. Have a happy and safe holiday.
