The Field Services Assistance Manual (FSAM) includes procedures for Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) field offices and Area Agency on Aging (AAA) field offices.

Except for functions applicable to only APD operated offices such as payroll, personnel, and others specified in the Procedures for State Office section and written agreements, the procedures are general and apply to both types of offices. For this reason, and for ease of reading, the APD offices and AAA offices are identified collectively as "local offices."

 

Please refer to the APD manuals linked through APD staff tools and the DHS intranet webpage should also be used as guides in daily work.

 

Local offices are not allowed to create their own procedure if one is specified in the FSAM without the permission and approval of APD Central Office.

  • Local offices with suggestions for process improvement are encouraged to use the Continuous Improvement (CI) process.
  • The FSAM will be updated as needed when changes in policy or procedure occur.
  • Forms are referenced and linked when appropriate.
